Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic, experienced nurse to lead our nurses within the Surgical Oncology outpatient areas. This consists of ENT Outpatients, Breast unit, Southwark centre and Gynae Oncology.

The successful candidate will be able to manage staffing across multiple areas, support health and well being and be proactive in improving patient experience. Fantastic communication skills, calmness and kindness are paramount when working with a wide range of services and MDT members.

We are passionate about constantly improving our service and delivering high quality care to our patients. We have a significant focus on patient experience and want to improve further the engagement from patients to improve the service. We are looking for committed individuals with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, who have a genuine interest in working within surgical oncology in an outpatient setting. We are dedicated to training and developing our staff in their chosen field so the successful candidate will get the opportunity to work along side the matron and advanced nurse practitioners in nursing development and education within the directorate to achieve a multi-skilled workforce.

Main duties of the job

-Lead the department teams and build successful links between key
professionals

-Manage the department nursing staff, ensuring the patients receive high
quality clinical care and a good patient experience

provide an effective service

-Lead and support the team through the process of change

Qualifications/ Education

  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in relevant area of speciality supplemented by specialist clinical, managerial training and CPD
