Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to provide care for patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy and radiotherapy. The role is based at Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, with a 4-day shift pattern from Monday to Saturday.

The ANP will work across ward and day-unit settings, with opportunities to develop specialist skills and gain rotational experience. Sponsorship eligibility will be assessed as per Home Office rules.

Qualifications

  • NMC registered with post-registration senior nursing experience within oncology specialty.
  • Ability to work across different clinical settings and maintain a wide range of specialist skills.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Practice if not already achieved.

Job description

The Role

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) provides care for patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT), radiotherapy, and treatment for cancer-related complications. Care is delivered within both the inpatient ward setting and the Macmillan Day Unit.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

Permanent, Full-time

Shift pattern - 4 days, Monday to Saturday

Base location - Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre

Key Responsibilities
  • NMC registered with post-registration senior nursing experience within oncology speciality.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
  • Oncology nursing experience is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Successful applicants must complete advanced practice education if they have not already achieved a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Practice.
  • Ability to work across different clinical settings and maintain a wide range of specialist skills.
