Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) invites applications for a qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner within West Glasgow CAMHS. This permanent post is part-time (28.8 hours) with potential progression to Band 7 salary on successful completion of competencies.

Job description

The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within West Glasgow Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) for a qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) with a focus on complex neurodevelopmental conditions within a mental health context, including learning disability.

Applications are welcomed from qualified Mental Health Advanced Nurse Practitioners as well as trainee ANPs under Annex 21. As a trainee, you will undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Practice over a two to three-year period and will progress to the full Band 7 salary upon successful completion of all required competencies and final sign-off.

Working across professional and organisational boundaries, you will provide expert clinical care to children and young people, supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in line with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards and Health and Safety legislation.

All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• This is a permanent post working part-time hours (28.8)
• Shift pattern has yet to be confirmed
• You will be based within West Glasgow Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) at West Centre, Drumchapel.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.

Key responsibilities:

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will work autonomously to assess, diagnose, treat and prescribe for children and young people with complex neurodevelopmental conditions, including learning disabilities, within a mental health setting.

You will manage the complete clinical care of your patients using advanced clinical knowledge and decision-making skills, with responsibility for assessment, treatment planning, prescribing, referral, admission and discharge where appropriate. You will provide clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary team, contribute to service development, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe and effective care that reflects the principles of equality, dignity, respect and cultural diversity.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

Essential

• First level Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities (RNLD) with current NMC registration.
• Substantial relevant post-registration training and experience as detailed in the Job Description.
• Ability to work autonomously and make complex clinical decisions.
• Excellent communication, leadership and multidisciplinary team working skills.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

Desirable

• Qualified Independent Prescriber.
• Previous experience working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
• Experience supporting children and young people with complex neurodevelopmental conditions and learning disabilities.
