Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a healthcare professional to join the Macmillan Day Bed Unit at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. You will deliver high-quality, clinically effective patient care to adults with cancer, including those receiving systemic anti-cancer therapies, across the patient journey.

Job description

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team within the Macmillan Day Bed Unit at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. As an essential member of the team, you will deliver high-quality, clinically effective patient care at all times. The role offers a varied caseload, including caring for patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) and supporting patients at different stages of their cancer journey, providing excellent opportunities to develop your skills and experience.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

Permanent, Full-time

Shift Pattern - 0800-1800 & 1000-2000 Monday Saturday

Base location - Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, clinically effective patient care.
  • Care for patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT).
  • Support patients at various stages of their cancer journey.
  • Provide care for patients receiving chemotherapy treatment for cancer.
  • Contribute to the delivery of safe and effective oncology services.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
Essential
  • Current NMC registration.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Good numeracy skills.
Desirable
  • Experience working in an oncology healthcare setting.
Clinical Knowledge
  • Understanding of and ability to care for patients receiving chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.
