Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or Trainee ANP to join the ANP team across the IAU, ARU3 & ARU5, RAaC and the SDUCC at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

The role focuses on high-quality unscheduled care, patient flow, early assessment and clinical decision-making, with opportunities for leadership and education of junior staff in a fast-paced acute environment.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration.
• Evidence of, or working towards, a Master’s level qualification in Advanced Practice.
• Demonstrable competence in clinical assessment, clinical reasoning, diagnostics, and decision-making.
• Non-Medical Prescribing qualification (or willingness to work towards).

Responsibilities

• Take and record patient history including medical, family and social history.
• Conduct comprehensive clinical examination and mental health assessment.
• Screen patients for disease using clinical findings and tests.
• Make diagnostic decisions and formulate treatment plans.
• Prescribe treatment as a Non-medical Prescriber where appropriate.
