An exciting opportunity awaits for an Advanced Practitioner to join a dynamic team focused on elderly care within a leading healthcare system. This role demands a highly motivated individual who can make complex clinical decisions and deliver high-quality patient care autonomously. You will have the chance to innovate and lead evidence-based practice while working within a supportive multi-disciplinary team. If you are flexible, hardworking, and possess excellent communication skills, this role is perfect for you.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
There are two fulltime, permanent posts available of 37 hours per week, with a rotational shift pattern.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Practitioner (AP) to join our dynamic team within Older People and Stroke Services, to focus on serving the healthcare needs of our elderly patients. This post will be predominantly based at Gartnavel General Hospital, however rotation to our other South sector sites may be required depending on service needs. The successful candidate will be educated to Masters Level or similar and have experience in an acute or similar setting. They must be SWISS registered and possess a non-medical prescribing V300 qualification. The AP is expected to make highly complex decisions, including diagnosis and clinical management based on an in-depth broad expert knowledge, and interpretation and synthesis of clinical and other findings. The successful candidate will be expected to innovate, develop and lead evidence based practice and professional development. The AP role includes the authority to admit, refer and discharge patients. This will involve working autonomously by utilising a high level of clinical decision making and ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality and effective patient care. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is flexible, forward thinking, hardworking and professional. The ability to remain calm under pressure is a priority as well as possessing excellent communication and organisational skills. Experience in elderly care medicine would be an advantage but not essential. You must have the ability to work as part of a wide multi-disciplinary team as well as to work independently.
Trainee Advanced Practitioners would be considered under annex 21 arrangements.
