Job summary

Huawei UK Research and Development in Cambridge is seeking a researcher to develop image processing algorithms for camera denoising, HDR, super resolution, and related metrics using AI and classical approaches. You will work with a team of researchers across the group and universities to advance image quality evaluation.

You will contribute to new picture quality metrics, collaborate with external researchers, and present findings in English.

Qualifications

• PhD required with 2+ years of academic or industry experience.
• Experience with image processing algorithms and visual perception.
• Experience running psychophysical experiments and using video/image quality metrics.
• Strong understanding of deep learning and PyTorch.

Responsibilities

• Develop image processing algorithms for video and image quality metrics across denoising, fusion, registration, deghosting, demosaicing, HDR, colour and tone processing, stabilization, and super resolution.
• Research and develop new picture quality metrics for distortions, including non-reference metrics.
• Collaborate with Huawei researchers, university labs, and external researchers to advance projects.
• Fluently communicate in English; French or Chinese is an advantage.
