Huawei Technologies Research & Development (UK) Ltd is seeking a software and simulation engineer with deep ML expertise to join the design team. You will work with device design experts to automate simulation processes using ML, build and maintain simulation tools, and drive data-driven design improvements.

The role requires a PhD in a related field, strong programming in Python, and proven ability to analyze complex data, communicate findings, and work independently across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computing Science, Physics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge and implementation of machine learning with collaborative working examples.
• Exceptional data analysis and clear report-writing and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with device design teams to understand simulation workflows and goals.
• Implement machine learning techniques to automate simulation needs.
• Own software tools: maintain code and provide a user interface for designers.
• Deliver literature reviews and progress reports on the tools developed.
• Train design team members and document tool usage.
• Collaborate with Design, Fabrication and Test to gather data and verify experiments.
• Design experiments to test model limitations against data and refine physics-aware models.
