Job summary

Huawei Research and Development UK Limited in Cambridge seeks a senior engineer to research, design and optimize core graphics rendering algorithms for next-generation pipelines. You will work on Ray Tracing, Path Tracing, PBR and screen-space effects, while improving performance and stability of core modules such as geometry processing, shader compilation, texture management and GPU scheduling.

Qualifications

• BSc, MSc or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Electronic Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related discipline.
• At least five years of hands-on experience in computer graphics, GPU graphics algorithms, real-time rendering or related field.
• Strong understanding of modern rendering technologies and graphics pipelines.
• Hands-on experience in designing, implementing and optimizing high-performance GPU graphics algorithms.
• Knowledge of Ray Tracing, Path Tracing, PBR, screen-space effects, image reconstruction or related technologies.
• Experience in geometry processing, shader compilation, texture management and GPU scheduling.
• Strong understanding of GPU parallel computing characteristics, graphics performance analysis and optimization.
• Proficient programming and engineering implementation skills.
• Experience with Vulkan, OpenGL ES, Metal, DirectX 11/12 or OpenCL.
• Self-motivated, organized and team player.
• Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and system-level design of core graphics algorithms for next-generation rendering pipelines.
• Drive integration of graphics theory with engineering practice for perceptual realism.
• Publish technical results through papers, white papers or blogs to strengthen team influence.
• Optimize and ensure stability of core rendering modules including geometry processing and GPU scheduling.
