Vetro Recruitment is assisting a leading specialist provider in Wales to recruit a Learning Disability Support Worker for Porthcawl, Bridgend. You will support adults with learning disabilities in residential, supported living, or day services, helping them live more independently.

Key duties include daily tasks, promoting life skills, building relationships, facilitating activities, monitoring wellbeing, and ensuring safety and dignity.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience in a social care setting.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to pay for one.
• The right to work in the UK.
• Ability to work above 24 hours per week.
• A driver’s licence is essential for community activities.

Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, personal care, and attending appointments.
• Promoting independence and encouraging the development of life skills.
• Building positive relationships with service users, families, and team members.
• Participating in engaging activities like walks, games, music sessions, arts & crafts, and more.
• Supporting emotional wellbeing and helping individuals achieve their personal goals.
• Ensuring the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of every individual in your care.
• Observing, monitoring, and recording residents’ conditions accurately.
