Vetro Recruitment is recruiting an Adult Learning Disability Support Worker in Tredegar. You will provide person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities, supporting independence and social inclusion.

Role offers various shift patterns and competitive pay. DBS checks are required, and training is provided. Potential progression to permanent positions within the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in a social care setting.
  • Empathy and resilience to improve outcomes for adults with learning disabilities.
  • Ability to obtain or hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to pay for practical training if not already completed.
  • Online training modules available free of charge.

Job description

Adult Learning Disability Support Worker

Location: Tredegar

£14.24 per hour including holiday pay

Various shift patterns available: short days, long days, waking nights, and sleep-ins

Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred therapeutic care and support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, or sensory impairments.
  • Observe, monitor, and document resident conditions and progress, ensuring high standards of dignity, respect, and honesty.
  • Assist residents through their care pathways, promoting independence and social inclusion.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care tailored to individual needs.
  • Support residents during daily activities, activities, and personal care, respecting their preferences and autonomy.
Requirements
Essential
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a social care setting.
  • Empathy, resilience, and a genuine desire to improve outcomes for adults with learning disabilities.
  • Ability to obtain or hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to pay for practical training at a subsided cost (e.g., PBM, Manual Handling, Buccal) if not already completed.
  • Ability to complete online training modules (free of charge)
Desirable
  • NVQ Level 3 or 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualifications.
  • UK full manual driving license
  • Additional relevant certifications or specialised training.
