Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking an Adult Learning Disability Support Worker in Marshfield, Cardiff, South Wales. You will provide person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities, supporting daily living and social inclusion within a multidisciplinary team.

Flexible shift patterns include short days, long days, waking nights, and sleep-ins. The role requires at least 6 months' social care experience, an Enhanced DBS, the right to work in the UK, and willingness to complete required training.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months' experience in a social care setting.
  • Ability to obtain or hold Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Right to work in the UK and willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred therapeutic care and support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, or sensory impairments.
  • Observe, monitor, and document resident conditions and progress with dignity and honesty.
  • Assist residents through care pathways, promoting independence and social inclusion.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver tailored care.
  • Support residents during daily activities and personal care while respecting preferences.

Adult Learning Disability Support Worker

Location: Marshfield, Cardiff, South Wales (CF area)

£??????14.24 per hour including holiday pay

Responsibilities:
  • Provide person-centred therapeutic care and support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, or sensory impairments.
  • Observe, monitor, and document resident conditions and progress, ensuring high standards of dignity, respect, and honesty.
  • Assist residents through their care pathways, promoting independence and social inclusion.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care tailored to individual needs.
  • Support residents during daily activities, activities, and personal care, respecting their preferences and autonomy.
Requirements:
Essential:
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a social care setting.
  • Empathy, resilience, and a genuine desire to improve outcomes for adults with learning disabilities.
  • Ability to obtain or hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to pay for practical training at a subsided cost (e.g., PBM, Manual Handling, Buccal) if not already completed.
  • Ability to complete online training modules (free of charge)
Desirable:
  • NVQ Level 3 or 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualifications.
  • UK full manual driving license
  • Additional relevant certifications or specialised training.
