Work schedule: Monday to Thursday 9:00 to 17:30 with one-hour break, Friday 9:00 to 17:00. Hybrid working model, currently at least 2 days office-based.

Location: Sandwell Council House / Wednesbury

Brief description:

This is an exciting time to join Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council Adult Social Care. We are recruiting additional Social Workers for the Tipton and West Bromwich Community Social Work team.

We seek committed and hardworking qualified Social Workers with experience in adult social work, including work with older people, individuals with physical disabilities and sensory impairments, as well as mental health issues. You should be motivated, flexible, and uphold high professional standards, with sound knowledge of current legislation such as the Care Act 2014, Safeguarding, Continuing Health Care, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Community DOLS/LPS.

You will work with vulnerable adults and their carers using a strength-based approach to support them in achieving their outcomes within the community. Responsibilities include safeguarding investigations, mental capacity assessments, best interest decisions, outcome-focused assessments, and support planning to meet care and support needs.

You must be able to work with diverse individuals and partner agencies to deliver optimal outcomes for our clients and their carers.

We provide an induction, appropriate training, and regular supervision with an experienced manager. You will be part of a friendly, skilled, diverse, and supportive team.

Requirements include a degree in Social Work, Dip SW, CQSW, or equivalent. You will also need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check with Children's and Adults Barring List clearance.
