Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking an Adult Speech & Language Therapy Assistant to join Farnham Hospital on a 37.5-hour week schedule. You will work closely with our Speech & Language Therapist to support adults with acquired neurological conditions and help improve communication and swallowing abilities.

The role includes community visits across four sites, outpatients clinics, and a requirement for a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate has GCSE English grade C or above.
To work independently and as part of a team.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to adapt written and verbal to patients’ understanding.
Flexible and responsive to changing demands.
Ability to prioritise and manage time.
Ability to gather and evaluate clinical information with supervision.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

Provide support and advice for patients and families about therapy needs under guidance of SLT.
Maintain up-to-date written electronic records.
Deliver education sessions to patients, families, and external organisations under guidance of SLT.
Participate in delivery of therapy programme (individual and group).
Engage in ongoing personal development through internal/external opportunities.
Prioritise clinical work and balance with other duties as required.
Understand capacity and consent to treatment and apply in practice.
Deliver therapy across settings including community wards, outpatient clinics, and home visits.
