Job summary

HCRG Care Group is recruiting a Band 5 Speech & Language Therapist to work with children in early years settings. You will assess, diagnose, and deliver evidence-based SLT interventions for preschoolers, and empower parents and carers through training and collaborative planning.

Based in Surrey with hybrid working from office hubs; you will join a network focused on safeguarding, multidisciplinary collaboration, and service improvement.

Qualifications

• Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent (PgDip or MSc) leading to HCPC registration.
• Knowledge/training in ASD strategies and interventions (eg PECS, SCERTS, ADOS).
• Experience with school-based, preschool or child services.
• Good knowledge of EHCPs and related reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality school-based assessments as part of a MDT for children and young people.
• Deliver SLT assessments and interventions to preschool-aged children.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and the wider children's workforce to create tailored care plans.
• Provide reports including for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Support service development and achievement of key performance targets.
• Supervise SLT assistants and students and plan/ deliver training for carers and professionals to enhance understanding of SLCN.
• Participate in multi-agency meetings and safeguarding case conferences as required.

The Ideal Candidate Essential Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent (Post Graduate Diploma or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy leading to registration with HCPC) Knowledge/training in ASD strategies and interventions e.g. PECS, SCERTS, ADOS Health and Care Professions Council Licence to Practice (HCPC) Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists Member of relevant Clinical Excellence Network Specialist knowledge of assessments and interventions for client group Knowledge of national and local policies and procedures relevant to client group and role. Awareness of policies and procedures relating to Child Protection Experience of managing own caseload and to work effectively with a range of client groups Desirable Knowledge / training in PCI, Hanen strategies.
