Job summary

Blackburn with Darwen council is seeking an Adults Social Worker to join their integrated neighbourhood team. You will assess adults 18+ with diverse needs, delivering person-centred interventions and managing a varied caseload within a collaborative multi-agency setting.

The role requires post-qualifying experience, registration with Social Work England, and strong knowledge of the Care Act and safeguarding legislation. Excellent communication and report-writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years post-qualifying Social Worker experience.
• Recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• Solid knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding legislation.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a complex caseload.

Responsibilities

• Undertake Care Act assessments, reviews, and support planning in line with the council's model.
• Complete Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest decisions where required.
• Manage safeguarding enquiries in line with legislation and local procedures.
• Work with adults with disabilities, mental health needs, and older people in the community.
• Undertake community-based assessments and develop multi-agency working relationships.
• Maintain accurate case recordings and reports (Mosaic Database).
