Job summary

Remedy Social Work is recruiting an Adults Social Worker to join Blackburn with Darwen council’s integrated neighbourhood team. You will assess adults 18+ using strengths-based approaches and deliver person-centred interventions.

You will manage a varied caseload, collaborating with families, carers and partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes, including Care Act assessments, Mental Capacity work, safeguarding, and community-based reviews.

Qualifications

• 2 years post qualifying Social Worker experience
• Recognised Social Work qualification and SW England registration
• Sound knowledge of Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding legislation
• Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a complex caseload

Responsibilities

• Undertake Care Act assessments, reviews, and support planning using the local model
• Complete Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interests decisions
• Manage safeguarding enquiries in line with legislation and local procedures
• Work with adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health needs, and older people
• Undertake community-based assessments
• Develop effective multi-agency working relationships
• Maintain accurate case records and reports (Mosaic system)

Our client Blackburn with Darwen council is looking for an Adults Social Worker to join their integrated neighbourhood team.

About the Role

As an Adult Social Worker, you will work with adults aged 18+ with a range of needs, undertaking strengths-based assessments and delivering person-centred interventions. You will manage a varied caseload and work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers, and partner agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake Care Act assessments, reviews, and support planning in line with Blackburn with Darwen's 3 conversational model.
• Complete Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest decisions where required.
• Manage safeguarding enquiries in line with relevant legislation and local procedures.
• Work with adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health needs, and older people.
• Undertake community-based assessments.
• Develop effective multi-agency working relationships.
• Maintain accurate and timely case recordings and reports. Blackburn with Darwen use Mosaic Database system.

Requirements

Essential

• 2 years post qualifying Social Worker experiences
• a recognised Social Work qualification and Registered with Social Work England.
