Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge is seeking to appoint an Admissions Officer. This post manages a complex annual admissions cycle in collaboration with the Admissions Director, Directors of Studies and the Tutorial Assistant. Often the first point of contact for teachers, parents and applicants, you will provide information, advice and guidance, evaluate processes and procedures, and ensure the smooth running of an essential function of the College.
This is a full time, permanent post involving 37.5 hours per week. The salary is based between points 30 to 36 on the Sidney Sussex salary spine, currently equating to £35,727 - £41,752per annum. Some flexibility is required at the busier points in the admissions cycle (October-January and August) and will involve working on the occasional evening and/or weekend.
The successful applicant will have experience managing complex administrative tasks to tight deadlines in the education sector. They will have strong interpersonal and excellent IT skills, as well as being highly literate and numerate. You will also need to be able to work independently, use discretion, prioritise your work, and communicate effectively with a wide range of people. Strong preference will be given to applicants with experience of the Cambridge undergraduate admissions process – either from within a Cambridge College or as part of the central University – and who are able to join the College by the 15th of October.
