Job description

Admissions Manager

Location: Much Hadham, Hertfordshire (On-site)

Hours: Full Time Permanent

Salary: £29,338 - £32,793 per annum (pro rata)

This is an on-site role, with an expectation that the successful candidate will work from site a minimum of four days per week (working days to be agreed). Whilst core hours are generally Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, occasional flexibility will be required to support assessment visits, family meetings, open events and other operational requirements outside of normal working hours.

Could you be the first person a family remembers for all the right reasons?

Every admission to St Elizabeth's represents far more than filling a vacancy. It marks the beginning of a life-changing journey for a child or young person with complex needs-and for the family placing their trust in us.

We're looking for an exceptional Admissions Manager to lead that journey.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver an outstanding admissions experience across one of the UK's leading specialist charities, supporting children and young people with epilepsy, autism, complex learning disabilities and associated health needs.

If you're organised, compassionate, commercially aware and passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Admissions and Strategic Partnerships, you'll be responsible for managing the complete admissions journey—from the first enquiry through to confirmed placement—ensuring every prospective learner and their family receives a professional, supportive and seamless experience.

Working closely with Local Authorities, commissioners and multidisciplinary professionals, you'll coordinate assessments, manage referrals, support placement decisions and help ensure children and young people access the right specialist provision at the right time.

You'll also play a key role in improving occupancy, developing admissions processes, analysing performance data and continually enhancing the applicant experience.

No two days are ever the same.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Managing the complete admissions journey from enquiry through to confirmed placement.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary assessments and placement visits.
  • Building positive relationships with families, Local Authorities, commissioners and external agencies.
  • Working collaboratively with Education, Care, Health and Therapy teams.
  • Monitoring admissions pipelines, occupancy levels and referral activity.
  • Producing accurate reports and management information.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve admissions processes and customer experience.
  • Acting as a professional ambassador for St Elizabeth's throughout every stage of the admissions journey.
About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience managing admissions, referrals or a similar customer-focused service.
  • Experience within education, health or social care.
  • A sound understanding of SEND, EHCPs and statutory assessment processes.
  • Experience working with Local Authorities and commissioners.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using CRM or case management systems.
  • The ability to prioritise competing demands and work under pressure.
  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children, young people and families.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal office hours to support assessments, family meetings, open events and operational requirements.
Why Join St Elizabeth's?

At St Elizabeth's you'll be joining one of the UK's leading charities supporting children and young people with complex disabilities and learning needs.

Every day brings the opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of the people we support and their families.

In return, we offer:
  • A meaningful career with real purpose.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression.
  • A supportive, collaborative and inclusive working environment.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Health and wellbeing support.
  • Employee benefits and discount schemes.
  • Free on-site parking.
  • Beautiful 60-acre countryside campus.
