University of Strathclyde is seeking an Admissions and Student Recruitment Coordinator (851418) to manage the undergraduate applicant journey from enquiry through to registration, including offer management, deposits, and scholarship handling.

You will advise prospective students by phone, email and in person, ensure compliance with admissions policies and UKVI, and support events and outreach to hit recruitment targets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full Undergraduate applicant journey from enquiry and pre-application, to selection and offer-making and to conversion activity including offer acceptance, deposit payment and scholarship management to registration.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance to prospective students by phone, email, online platforms, and in person where appropriate.
  • Assess qualification documents and references received in support of offers of study.
  • Respond to enquiries from applicants at all stages of the applicant journey to support progress.
  • Build rapport with applicants to encourage registrations when recruitment targets are high.
  • Proactively promote the Faculty’s portfolio of scholarships to relevant applicants.
  • Support University and Faculty-led admissions and recruitment events such as open days and webinars.
  • Compile statistics and monitor progress towards student intake targets.
  • Continuously develop, improve and comply with standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.

Admissions and Student Recruitment Coordinator (851418)

The HaSS portfolio of Undergraduate taught programmes isdiverse, including full and part-time, with applicants applying viaUCAS and directly to us. We have ambitious recruitment targetsfor Home, RUK and International students and this role will be akey part of HaSS’s growth strategy and we seek to attract highquality, qualified students, complying with University policy andprocedures and providing a timeous and exemplary customerservice throughout the applicant journey.

This key post sits within the Undergraduate Admissions andSelection team, part of the wider HaSS Faculty International,Marketing & Student Recruitment team. The Undergraduateteam’s remit is to manage admissions and recruitment for thefaculty’s taught programmes, across full and part time.

The postholder will manage the full Undergraduate applicantjourney from enquiry and pre-application, to selection and offermaking and subsequent conversion activity, including offeracceptance, deposit payment and scholarship management tothe point of student registration for our broad range of applicantsfrom Scotland, RUK and Internationally, with the aim ofmaximising recruitment, meeting and exceeding targets andstudent fee income.

Provide information, advice and guidance to prospectivestudents by phone, email, online platforms, and whereappropriate, in person.

Using the University-wide admissions system to assess receivedapplications, evaluating the applicant’s ability to meet the existingentry requirements.

Process offers of study and unsuccessful decisions and recordactivity to communicate progress using agreed processes andprocedures.

Ensure working knowledge of University admissions andrecruitment policies.

Ensure compliance with external bodies related to admissions,i.e. UKVI.

Maintain working knowledge of external sources, such as forIELTs verification and ECCTIS, to support assessing applications.

Assess qualification documents and references received insupport of offers of study.

Respond to enquiries from applicants at all stages of theapplicant journey to support progress.

Build rapport with applicants, where the Faculty requiresincreased student numbers, to encourage registrations.

Proactively promote the Faculty’s portfolio of scholarships torelevant applicants.

Support University and Faculty led admissions and recruitmentevents such as open days and webinars.

Compile statistics and monitor progress towards student intaketargets.

Continuously develop, improve and comply with standardoperating procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.

Undertake any duties appropriate to the grade within the scopeof the student recruitment, marketing and admissions team,including managing programmes across the portfolio outwithUndergraduate including Postgraduate Taught. The post holderwill be required to be flexible and adapt as priorities andresponsibilities may shift from time to time as the facultydisciplines and the University, respond to challenges andchanges in the higher education sector.
