Binnies, an RSK Company, is excited to offer a full-time or part-time HR Administrator position within our HR team, supporting over 600 employees across the UK in the Water and Environmental sectors. This role provides an opportunity to join a friendly, growing team and focus on supporting our most valuable asset—our people.

About the Role

Working alongside HR Business Partners and Senior HR Business Partners, you will handle administrative tasks to ensure excellent service delivery. Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing our online HR system: maintaining employee records, conducting Right to Work checks, preparing contractual change letters, auditing data, and generating reports.
  • Administering HR policies and processes such as flexible working requests, maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental leave, payroll reports, long service awards, and promotion schemes.
  • Tracking sickness documentation, monitoring sickness trends, and managing sick pay entitlements, including identifying trigger points and exhaustion of entitlements.
  • Responding to queries via shared HR mailbox and providing guidance on HR matters.
  • Participating in regular meetings with HR generalists to discuss workload and task distribution.
  • Performing additional administrative duties, such as note-taking, organizing shared documents, and maintaining trackers.

This position is suitable for candidates with prior administrative experience; HR experience is not mandatory.

You should demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, and qualities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Teams, Word, Excel, OneDrive, and SharePoint
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and teamwork abilities
  • Effective communication skills and confidence in letter writing and numeracy, ideally supported by GCSE/National 5 at grade C or above
  • Previous experience working in an HR team (preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport at all levels
  • Professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive information
  • Ability to take ownership, use initiative, and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Capability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt flexibly
Salary and Benefits
  • Approximately £25,000–£28,000 depending on experience for a 37.5-hour week
  • Contributory Pension Scheme, Private Medical, Income Protection, and Life Assurance
  • 33 days of leave, including public holidays, based on a 37.5-hour week
