Job summary

Qualifications

  • Desirable: NVQ Level 2 in Administration, Business Administration, or Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient administrative support to operational and support teams.
  • Maintain and update electronic and manual information systems.
  • Create, maintain, and archive files and records.
  • Assist with the collection and collation of statistical information and returns.
  • Provide accurate advice, information, and assistance to customers.
  • Record complaints, service requests, and customer inquiries.
  • Process and respond to garden waste queries.
  • Issue, collect, and validate customer documentation.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and emails.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Ensure records and information are maintained accurately and securely.
  • Coordinate meetings and appointments as required.
  • Attend meetings and take accurate notes and minutes.
  • Produce and distribute meeting minutes and action logs.
  • Liaise with statutory, independent, voluntary, and partner organizations.
  • Build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Order stationery, publications, and equipment in line with procurement procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain administrative resources required by the service.
  • Undertake project and 'task and finish' work as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Assist colleagues across the service to ensure priorities are achieved.
  • Support service delivery across Waste & Recycling functions as required.
  • Follow council policies and procedures at all times.
  • Comply with health and safety requirements.

Job Description: Administrator (Waste & Recycling) – 3 Month Contract

Location: Rhayader, Powys

Rate: £16.44 per hour (Umbrella)

Contract: Temporary (3 Months)

Pay: Bi-weekly

Desirable Requirement: Previous local authority or council experience is highly desirable; Ability to travel to other locations across Powys when required.

Summary

This temporary 3-month contract role is pivotal in providing administrative support to the Waste & Recycling Service, ensuring the seamless delivery of administrative, customer service, and operational support functions. Reporting to the Supervisor, the Administrator will be responsible for maintaining records, processing inquiries, coordinating meetings, managing correspondence, and assisting with service administration. This role is integral to supporting both operational and support teams in delivering efficient services.

Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support
    • Provide efficient administrative support to operational and support teams.
    • Maintain and update electronic and manual information systems.

  • Customer Service
    • Provide accurate advice, information, and assistance to customers.

  • Correspondence & Information Management
    • Process incoming and outgoing mail and emails.

    • Coordinate meetings and appointments as required.
    • Attend meetings and take accurate notes and minutes.

Requirements
  • Qualifications
