Trafford Council is seeking a capable administrator to join the Schools Capital Project Team. The role focuses on asset data management for schools, supporting funding bids and delivery of the Education Estates Strategy.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our small but perfectly formed Schools Capital Project Team.
We are a busy service based within Children’s Services, working alongside other non-school educational services. We strive to improve our school buildings to ensure our pupils thrive and achieve their educational outcomes through fit for purpose and high-quality learning environments whilst also contributing to Trafford's wider sustainability and climate goals.
The team’s roles include financial responsibility for education capital funding and supporting large scale capital schemes.
Your role will include providing asset management information for schools and supporting the submission of bids to secure additional funding.
Alongside other administrative responsibilities, you will support delivery of the DfE Education Estates Strategy, ensuring Trafford meets the School Estate Management Standards and calculating the impact of existing and new residential development proposals on education infrastructure and monitoring contributions from housing developers.
We are looking to welcome someone who is confident and resilient with relevant experience of working in a busy and demanding business administration environment.
Are you skilled in, analysing complex datasets, producing clear and accurate reports, and competent in using computerised information systems, including Microsoft 365 and web-based applications, a highly organised, analytical, and solutions-focused person, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities, drive process improvements, and maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality?
Ideally you will be experienced in data and asset management, with a professional manner and strong expertise in education estates, statutory compliance, and project management, possess a strong understanding of school estate regulations, DfE guidance, GDPR, and health and safety responsibilities.
The post also includes engagement with stakeholders, therefore excellent communication and relationship building skills are crucial to this role, as is the ability to work collaboratively across organisations to achieve shared objectives.
Willing and able to travel to sites within the Trafford Borough. You will be asked for a copy of your driving license as part of the recruitment process.
