Job summary

NHS Orkney is recruiting an Administration Team Leader to join the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) in Orkney. The role combines leadership of the administration service with medical secretarial support to Consultant Psychiatrists and adult psychiatry services.

You will oversee administrative staff, manage workloads, and work with clinicians and partners to ensure efficient, responsive mental health care in a busy community setting.

Qualifications

• HNC in Administration or equivalent.
• Well organised with strong planning and communication skills.
• Experience in managing or supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of the administration team.
• Deliver high-quality medical secretarial support to Consultant Psychiatrists.
• Coordinate workloads and ensure efficient admin systems.
• Support induction, training and performance improvement.
• Liaise with clinicians, service users and partner agencies.
