Job summary

NHS Orkney is seeking an experienced Administration Team Leader to oversee the community mental health team’s administration service and provide high-quality medical secretarial support to Consultant Psychiatrists and adult psychiatry services. The role combines leadership with operational oversight in a busy clinical environment.

Based at Vaenta, this full-time (36 hours/week), permanent role requires lived-UK residency and offers a Band 4 salary (£31,537–£34,303) plus a Distant Islands

Qualifications

• Experienced administrator with an HNC in Administration or equivalent.
• Well organised with good planning and communication skills.
• Experience in managing or supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision and support to administrative staff, coordinating workloads and priorities.
• Oversee delivery of an efficient and responsive administration service to clinicians, service users and the MDT.
• Provide comprehensive medical secretarial support to Consultant Psychiatrists and adult psychiatry services.
