Job summary

Hans Price Academy in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a Part-Time Administration Assistant Level 1 - Receptionist to be the welcoming face of the academy and support a thriving learning environment. You will manage front-of-house operations and assist a friendly administrative team.

The role runs 7.5 hours per week during term time (plus INSET days) with a contractual start on 2 November 2026, working Fridays 8am–4pm. A professional, confidential, and student-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, parents and visitors.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office and email; experience with school management systems is a plus.
  • Highly organised with attention to detail; able to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
  • Demonstrates empathy, patience and a calm approach in safeguarding and sensitive situations.
  • Committed to confidentiality, safeguarding, and promoting welfare of children and young people.
  • Flexible, reliable and enthusiastic about working in a school setting.

  • Welcoming visitors, managing sign-in procedures, and following safeguarding protocols.
  • Answering telephone and email enquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Supporting students and staff with day-to-day administrative tasks.
  • Maintaining accurate records and assisting with data entry and reporting.
  • Assisting with general office duties such as photocopying, filing and ordering supplies.

£4,651 - £5,069 (Based on hours and working weeks)

Full Time Equivalent Salary:

£26,798 - £29,208 (CLF Grade B) Based on Full Time hours, All Year Round.

We are looking for a Part-Time Receptionist with a warm, professional manner and a passion for supporting young people and their families. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our front-of-house operations, providing a welcoming and efficient reception service and supporting the wider administrative team.

Working 7.5 hours per week, term time only (plus inset days), you’ll be the first point of contact for visitors, students, and staff, helping to create a positive and safe environment for all.

About you:
