Are you passionate about the environmental? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Administration Assistant to join our expanding Environment & Safety Division at SOCOTEC. Based in our Doncaster office, you will support environmental monitoring teams across multiple UK regions whilst contributing to our continued growth and success. As part of our dynamic Environmental Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting technical operations whilst wearing the SOCOTEC badge with pride. This position offers variety and growth opportunities, with diverse projects and locations ensuring no two days are the same. You will need to demonstrate strong organisational skills, working effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.

  • Report Management: Assisting technical staff with formatting, completing, and issuing reports to meet critical project deadlines
  • Project Tracking: Monitoring and maintaining spreadsheets to track job progress and ensure project milestones are achieved
  • Documentation: Filing and archiving site notes and laboratory paperwork in accordance with company standards
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Liaising effectively with staff across different departments to ensure seamless project delivery. Our Environmental Team is made up of many different specialists all operating within different areas of expertise. The main areas we cover are Environmental Monitoring and Consultancy together with specialist laboratories to support our services. Our services range from on-site monitoring and sample collection, ranging from local businesses to large Government contracts, to consultancy works on large, contaminated land projects, complimented with onsite works for dust, noise, and local exhaust emissions. We pride ourselves in our ability to consult, monitor and test for our clients, supporting all their needs in one place, using our highly trained employees.

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate:

  • Advanced IT Proficiency: Expert-level skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy when transferring data from certificates to reports
  • Time Management: Proven ability to work effectively under pressure whilst maintaining focus on deadlines
  • Communication Excellence: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Adaptability: Capability to work collaboratively within teams and independently when required
  • Safety Consciousness: Commitment to maintaining safe working practices, protecting yourself, colleagues, and clients from potential hazards
