Job Summary

The post holder will assist in delivering comprehensive administrative support to medical and nursing staff within the neurology specialty. Responsibilities include audio typing, maintaining and updating Excel databases, distributing, filing, and scanning documents. The role also involves answering telephone enquiries, coordinating waiting lists, and covering workload of other team members as required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform audio typing and word processing tasks.
  2. Maintain and update Excel databases.
  3. Monitor and respond to emails in the headache email boxes.
  4. File and scan documents.
  5. Answer telephone enquiries related to patient and general queries.
  6. Assist in the coordination and management of waiting lists.
  7. Support the neurology team by covering workload as needed.
  8. Locate and track case notes when required.
  9. Prioritise and organise own workload to ensure timely handling of patient information and correspondence.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A good standard of education, including GCSEs or equivalent, with English.
  • Secretarial or clerical experience.
  • Proven touch-typing skills at a high standard.
  • Experience with computerised systems and software programs.
Additional Information

This role involves exercising judgement in queries and supporting waiting list management. The post requires good organisational skills to manage workload efficiently.
