Administration Assistant

We are currently looking for an Admin Assistant to work with us on a full-time basis in Manchester, reporting into the Cyber Underwriting Manager.

This is an entry-level role and would be suitable for a school leaver, graduate, or an individual looking for a career change into the insurance industry.

You will take personal ownership of end-to-end handling of system processes, including any e-trade platform used in support of the cyber account.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and process your own work to handle the relevant part of the team workload efficiently and effectively.
  • Prepare documentation as required and calculate premium adjustments and debits by reference to rating and underwriting schedules within the policies, ensuring work is completed efficiently.
  • Prepare renewal statistics, including premium/claims experience, as requested by Underwriters.
  • Contribute positively to the team’s effectiveness by suggesting improvements to work systems and processes.
  • Respond to and take ownership of customer inquiries and allocated mail.
  • Work flexibly within a team, carrying out a wide range of tasks and assisting colleagues under pressure to ensure high customer service levels.
  • Collaborate with team members to continuously improve personal competency and ability to achieve objectives.
  • Ensure open communication and collaboration across all lines of business and the sales and development functions.
  • Perform general administrative duties.
  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships with team members, Claims Department, Sales and Development Team, Syndicate, and Directors.
  • Build and maintain external relationships with contacts within intermediaries and customers.
  • Undertake other duties as directed within the scope of the job.
  • Support the promotion of good Conduct to deliver optimal outcomes for customers and policyholders.
  • Understand escalation procedures and responsibilities related to the Product Conduct Risk Strategy Group (PCRSG), Underwriting & Claims Sub Committee (UCSC), ExCo, and the Board for Conduct Risk.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic technical/product knowledge, with a genuine curiosity about cyber and a desire to develop current knowledge.
  • Ability to understand established systems and processes.
  • Customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workloads effectively.
