Admin Team Leader

Our client HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is an agency of the Ministry of Justice. HMCTS provides administrative support for the legal system across England and Wales, ensuring justice works for everyone.

Our justice system defends our fundamental rights and freedoms. It is a cornerstone of our modern society and it must serve all those who call on it, when they call on it. From some of the most vulnerable people in our society, to families in crisis, claimants and commercial businesses - HMCTS has a responsibility to administer a justice system that is accessible to everyone and operates efficiently.

Location: Norwich or Ipswich (travel between sites is required)

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm

Pay rate: £13.51 per hour

Working Pattern: Fully office based. Temporary, initially ongoing until the end of March 2026.

Role Overview

The Admin Team Leader is responsible for leading and managing an administrative team that provides effective court support and excellent customer service to judiciary, court users, and stakeholders. The role focuses on workload planning, performance management, and ensuring processes are followed in line with HMCTS procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support an administrative team, ensuring work is organised and completed to required standards
  • Manage and plan workloads to meet service and performance targets
  • Monitor team performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are followed consistently
  • Provide guidance and support on casework and administrative processes
  • Handle queries from staff and court users
  • Produce basic performance and statistical information when required
  • Support training, development, and induction of staff
  • Promote HMCTS values and maintain high standards of conduct and professionalism
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Experience in an administrative, customer-focused environment
  • Previous experience leading or supporting a team
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to motivate and support others in a fast-paced environment
