Job summary

The University of Exeter is seeking a part-time Student Employment Support Officer to support the Access to Internships (A2i) funding arm, coordinating applications, eligibility checks and employer liaison.

This fixed-term 0.56 FTE role offers a starting salary of £30,878 (pro rata) on Grade D, with opportunities to gain experience in budgeting, databases, and project management while supporting underrepresented student groups.

Qualifications

• Educated to A level, Level 3 Apprenticeship, or equivalent.
• Excellent IT skills including MS Office, especially Excel, with the ability to interrogate and manipulate data.
• Recent, relevant administrative experience.
• Experience in handling complex processes, tracking progress and reporting on outcomes.
• Effectively handling complex enquiries.
• Working independently, including prioritising and meeting deadlines under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Administer the A2i service and guide students through applications.
• Check eligibility criteria and coordinate internships with employers and staff.
• Manage funding administration and relationships with stakeholders.
• Process finance requests using the university finance system and maintain Excel records.
• Build strong relationships with employers, students, graduates and funding bodies.
