Job summary

University of Exeter is seeking an Executive Officer on a part-time basis (0.8FTE) starting 1st October, with hybrid working (campus and home). The role supports strategic and operational success, working closely with senior leaders to deliver priorities and services across the division.

The successful candidate will lead projects, provide governance and senior‑level support, and act as a trusted adviser to drive continuous improvement and effective decision making in a fast-paced environment.

About The Role

Executive Officer

INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

The above part-time (0.8FTE) post is available from 1st October on a permanent basis. Applications for secondments will be considered subject to agreement from your current line manager.

Salary will be £43,482 per annum pro rata on Grade F subject to knowledge, skills and experience.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some from home.

Summary of Role

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and collaborative Executive Officer to play a pivotal role in supporting the strategic and operational success of PS Connect primarily. Working closely with the Divisional Director, Business Manager and Senior Leadership Teams, you will provide high-level executive, governance and project management support, helping to ensure the effective delivery of the division's priorities, objectives and services. You will also be a key member of Business Operations and Support leadership team, delivering cross divisional activities.

This is a varied and influential role. You will lead and coordinate a range of projects and initiatives, supporting the successful delivery of strategic plans, governance arrangements, continuous improvement activities, communications and team initiatives. Acting as a trusted adviser and key point of coordination, you will help drive progress, maintain oversight of actions and projects, and ensure that leaders are equipped with the information, analysis and support they need to make effective decisions.

The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with excellent organisational, communication and relationship-building skills. You will be confident working with senior stakeholders, managing competing priorities and handling sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgement. Your ability to analyse information, solve problems, influence others and deliver outcomes in a complex environment will be essential.
