Job summary

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive Admin/Receptionist to join the Talking Therapies Team in Doncaster. The role covers front-desk duties, data entry, and coordinating clinics.

The successful candidate will have NHS experience or familiarity with large public sector organisations, plus literacy and IT skills. This post supports training opportunities and occasional site coverage within the Trust.

Qualifications

  • Literacy and numeracy to functional skills level 1 or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 2 in a related subject or willingness to undertake a Level 2 Apprenticeship.
  • GCSE Grade C or above or Functional Skills level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • IT skills in Microsoft Office Packages or equivalent experience.
  • Understand importance of maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administration and reception support to a busy Talking Therapies Team in Doncaster.
  • Greeting service users and visitors; handle general enquiries face to face and by telephone.
  • Booking clinic rooms; data input; processing referrals; maintaining clinic diaries; management of medical records and related documents.
  • Attend training at other sites in Doncaster and may cover other areas in the locality.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and management to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly candidate to join our administration team to provide a comprehensive administration and reception service to a busy Talking Therapies Team based in Doncaster. There may be a requirement to cover the service in Rotherham and North Lincolnshire.

Previous experience of working in the NHS or other large public sector organisation and using an electronic records system i.e. SystmOne would be desirable.

If you don't already have a Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 2apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].

As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Whether you already work for us or are joining the Trust and NHS for the first time, apprenticeships can help you to develop the skills, knowledge and know-how in order to embark on a successful and fulfilling career within the health service.

Main duties of the job

This post would suit a highly motivated, organised and friendly individual with good attention to detail and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will undertake many administrative roles alongside working on the main reception.

This includes greeting service users and visitors, dealing with general enquires both face to face and over the telephone, booking clinic rooms, general administrative duties such as checking deliveries, sorting the post, data input, processing referrals into the service, maintaining clinic diaries, management of medical records and related documents, building duties and working with clinicians and the management team to ensure quality service delivery.

There is a requirement to attend training at other sites in Doncaster and there may be a requirement to cover other areas in the surrounding locality.
