We are looking for a new Admin Assistant to join our team. They will support the smooth running of the practice by performing the more routine administration and tasks on behalf of the GP freeing up their time to focus on the patient.This is a full time position working Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job
Sorting and scanning all clinical post and prioritising for the GP in terms of actions. Signposting some post to others such as clinical pharmacist etc.
Extracting all information from clinical letters that needs coding and adding to notes.
Arranging appointments, referrals, tests, patient requests and follow up appointments of patients from different sources including Docman tasks and EMIS tasks.
Overseeing other administration tasks related to streamlined patient care as required.
Completing basic (non-opinion) forms and core elements of some forms for the GP to approve and sign such as insurance forms, mortgage, benefits agency forms etc.

Reviewing medication requests, ensuring appropriate investigations (BP, urine, Blood tests) are performed and coordinating patient medication reviews appointments.
Helping the GP liaise with outside agencies eg. getting an on call doctor on the phone to ask advice or arrange admission.
Supporting the Management and GPs with a proactive, well organised coordinated approach to QOF.
Dipping urine, taking Blood Pressure, doing ECGs
