Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Musters Medical Practice for a highly motivated and committed General Practitioner to join our friendly and forward-thinking practice.

Main duties of the job

We currently have 9,600 patients. The role will be in addition to our fantastic team consisting of 2 GP partners, 5 salaried GPs, nursing team, and a clinical pharmacist.

The candidate will be registered with the GMC, have experience working in a GP surgery, be patient-centered to match our ethos, and be a good communicator. Musters Medical Practice works closely with the Rushcliffe PCN supporting the extended hours service and being involved in several PCN projects which support patient care throughout Rushcliffe.

We are seeking a 4-session salaried GP on Tuesday and Wednesday, offering flexible working with a competitive salary from £9,675 to £10,557 per session, starting in July 2025.

Job Responsibilities

1. The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring high standards of care for all patients.
2. Undertake duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, home visits, signing repeat prescriptions, and handling queries, paperwork, and correspondence in a timely manner.
3. Make autonomous professional decisions regarding presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare workers.
4. Assess health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
5. Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
6. Develop care plans in consultation with patients, aligned with current disease management protocols.
7. Provide counselling and health education.
8. Admit or discharge patients from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
9. Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
10. Collect data for audit purposes.
11. Issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions, avoiding handwritten prescriptions whenever possible.
12. Prescribe in accordance with the practice formulary or generically when clinically appropriate.
13. Undertake all normal duties associated with a GP working in primary care.
