Admin and Bookings Clerk

Location: Mount Stuart Hospital, Torquay

Hours: 28 hours per week, Part-time

Salary: Depending on experience + Benefits

Summary:

We care for patients from initial outpatient consultation and diagnostic scanning through to surgical treatment and recovery.

The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Admin and Bookings Clerk to join our friendly and supportive team at the Mount Stuart Hospital, base in Torquay. As a Admin and Bookings Clerk you will work as part of the Bookings Team, to support with bookings and enquiries.

This is a busy role liaising with patients, consultants and all hospital departments. We need an individual with a professional approach, excellent verbal communication skills, initiative and the ability to work within a team. You must be computer literate – experience with Word and Outlook being essential. Previous use of an Electronic Patient Record system would be an advantage.

Responsibilities:


  • Liaising with patients by phone & letter
  • Booking appointments
  • Liaising with consultants and their secretaries
  • Ensuring timely completion of appointments onto EPR system
  • Scanning & auditing of patient information
  • Preparation of clinics
  • Maintaining clinics on the EPR system
  • Booking appointments
  • Reception duties as required

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • An excellent standard of computer literacy to include experience in Word & Excel
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral
  • An excellent standard of computer literacy to include experience in Word & Excel

  • The ability to time-manage
  • Experience using a Patient Administration System (PAS) an advantage
