Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is recruiting a Specialist Nurse Practitioner (ADHD Non Medical Prescriber) to join the CAMHS ADHD team in North Manchester. The post is Band 7, permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week).

You will assess children and young people with ADHD, provide prescribing and clinical management under supervision, and work within a multidisciplinary team. Training to become a Non-Medical Prescriber is expected, with a target AfC 8a within 12–18 months.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or equivalent health care degree with professional body registration.
• Experience assessing children and young people with mental health problems.
• Experience in CAMHS and working with a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to manage risk and safeguarding within a clinical setting.
• Mentoring and supervision experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan and undertake specialist CAMHS assessments for children/young people with ADHD.
• Provide prescribing and treatment planning for ADHD with consent.
• Autonomously manage a caseload within CAMHS.
• Supervise and train other staff as required.
• Contribute to audit, policy development and service improvement.
