Job summary

Renfrewshire Council is seeking an Additional Support Needs Assistant (Temporary) to support young people with Additional Support Needs across Renfrewshire schools and other establishments. You will work under the direction of class teachers, with responsibility to assist Pre-5 to secondary students, applying literacy, numeracy and ICT skills as required.

The post is temporary, funded to 15 August 2027 or until the need ceases, whichever occurs first; a Disclosure Scotland check will be required

Qualifications

• Experience of working with and/or caring for Pre-5, Primary or Secondary age children.
• Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience of ICT equipment and associated software packages.

Responsibilities

• Support young people with Additional Support Needs in schools and other establishments across Renfrewshire.

Additional Support Needs Assistant (Temporary)

As an Additional Support Needs Assistant, you will be committed to working with young people/pupils with Additional Support Needs and be deployed to support young people within schools and other establishments across Renfrewshire.

Whilst responsible to the head teacher/head of establishment, you will work under the direction of and in partnership with nominated class teachers.
It is essential that you have experience of working with and/or caring for Pre 5, Primary or Secondary age children, together with demonstrable literacy, numeracy skills and experience of ICT equipment and associated software packages.

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for Until 15.08.2027 or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
