Job summary

Renfrewshire Council is seeking an Additional Support Needs Assistant (Temporary) to support pupils with Additional Support Needs across Renfrewshire schools. The role reports to head teachers and works with nominated class teachers to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.

The successful candidate will have proven experience with Pre 5 to secondary age children, strong literacy and numeracy skills, and comfort with ICT tools.

• Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience with ICT equipment and associated software packages.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to pupils with Additional Support Needs in schools.
• Support class teachers and assist with lesson delivery.

Additional Support Needs Assistant (Temporary)

As an Additional Support Needs Assistant, you will be committed to working with young people/pupils with Additional Support Needs and be deployed to support young people within schools and other establishments across Renfrewshire.

Whilst responsible to the head teacher/head of establishment, you will work under the direction of and in partnership with nominated class teachers.
It is essential that you have experience of working with and/or caring for Pre 5, Primary or Secondary age children, together with demonstrable literacy, numeracy skills and experience of ICT equipment and associated software packages.

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 12 Months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
