Additional Needs Support Worker
Cardiff (CF14), Full-time.
08:15am-15:15pm (Monday to Friday - term time).
Start: ASAP
2 year placement (secondary school).
Pay: Competitive from £90 a day.

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join an Additional Needs Base at a thriving secondary school committed to inclusive education. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to support a young student with special educational needs, including intimate personal care involving a urinary catheter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a young student within the Additional Needs Base within a secondary school.
  • Deliver personal care, including the safe and respectful management of a urinary catheter.
  • Support the student's educational, emotional, and physical development.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and medical professionals to ensure consistent, holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow care plans and safeguarding procedures.
  • Engage positively with parents and carers, fostering trust and clear communication.
  • Proven experience supporting young people or vulnerable adults with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Comfortable and competent in providing personal and intimate care, including catheter care (training can be provided if necessary).
  • Strong commitment to building relationships, patience, and emotional resilience.
  • Willingness and ability to commit to a minimum of 2 academic years in the role.
  • A team player who is adaptable, proactive, and professional in all situations.
