Teaching Assistant Support Worker – Full-Time – Radstock

About Axcis Education

Axcis Education is proud to partner with a further education college in Radstock, Somerset, to recruit a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant Support Worker. This full-time role at their specialist centre for learners with additional needs offers an immediate start and the potential to transition into a permanent position following a successful initial period.

About the Role

You will provide one-to-one support to students aged 16–25 with learning disabilities. Your role is vital in helping these young people develop essential life and learning skills, fostering independence and confidence. You will collaborate closely with experienced staff in a nurturing, inclusive environment that promotes positive behaviour.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Offer tailored support to students with diverse needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and cognitive challenges.
  2. Assist in adapting learning materials and activities to meet individual requirements.
  3. Encourage and support students in developing independence and self-help skills.
  4. Collaborate with teaching staff to implement personalised learning plans.
  5. Monitor and report on student progress, celebrating achievements and identifying areas for development.
