Job summary

The Supply Register is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils across primary and secondary academies in Northamptonshire, including Northampton and Corby. Roles include 1:1 and small group support with flexible working options.

Ideal candidates have SEND and childcare experience, an enhanced DBS, and a patient, empathetic approach to helping students learn at their own pace.

Qualifications

• SEND Experience: Proven experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
• Childcare Experience: Prior experience working with children in an educational, care, or youth work setting.
• DBS: Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS check.
• Flexibility: A adaptable, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young people of primary and secondary age.

Responsibilities

• Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with diverse SEND needs (including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties).
• Assisting class teachers in creating an inclusive, safe, and positive learning environment.
• Helping students engage with the curriculum and access learning at their own pace.
• Supporting individual behavior plans and promoting positive behavior management.
