Job summary

Tarmac in Stockport is seeking a Multi Skilled Operative to join our Bredbury Asphalt Plant. You will contribute to day-to-day plant operations, health, safety, environment and quality standards while delivering quality materials to customers.

The successful candidate will have a background in industrial or factory environments, good communication skills and a flexible, team‑oriented approach. Full UK driving licence and IT literacy are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of plant operation and safety practices.
• Shovel licence is desirable.
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-skilled team.
• Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.
• Good timekeeping and reliability.
• Clear communication with line management and colleagues.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Basic IT literacy for site systems.

Responsibilities

• Mixing asphalt to specification.
• Work with teammates to ensure quality materials and on-time deliveries.
• Operate weighbridge duties.
• Operate loading shovel (mobile plant).
• Assist in meeting daily/weekly production targets.
• Ensure the plant complies with safety requirements.
• Adhere to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies.
• Assist in plant maintenance and housekeeping.
