Job summary

Advantage Resourcing UK Ltd on behalf of a World Class Defence Organisation based in Bristol is seeking an ADA Software Engineer subcontractor for an initial 6‑month contract, onsite 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday).

The role involves Ada code development and verification, plus software V&V using target equipment and simulations of complex subsystems. Working in a small team with limited supervision is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience of UML (Rhapsody) and Ada (AdaCore).
• Knowledge of DOORs and IBM Config Management tooling (EWM) would be useful.
• Integration testing and debugging experience.
• Experience working in High Dependability systems would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a full range of engineering activities in line with relevant processes and requirements.
• Ada code development and verification.
• Software V&V using target-based equipment and simulations of missile subsystems.

Job description

World Class Defence Organisation based in Bristol is currently looking to recruit an ADA Software Engineer subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract, with very likely extension. The role will be onsite 4 days per week. A 4 day working week is OK (Monday to Thursday).

Rate: £70.00 per hour

Overtime Rate: Hours worked over the standard 37 hours per week, will be paid at 'time and a quarter'

Location: Bristol

Hybrid/Remote working: The role will be onsite 4 days per week. A 4 day working week is OK (Monday to Thursday).

Duration: 12 Months with very likely extension. Contracts are often ongoing and long-term thereafter.

IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)

Join our growing Software team in Bristol, working as part of a dynamic team to develop and deliver innovative solutions by exploiting a wide portfolio of software technologies. You will work as part of a small team and be empowered to work individually with little supervision.

Responsibilities:

• To undertake a full range of engineering activities in line with relevant processes, quality and other requirements.
• The role will involve Ada code development and verification.
• The role will involve software V&V, primarily using target-based equipment containing the software under test and complex simulations of other Missile subsystems.

Skillset/experience required:

• Experience of both UML (Rhapsody) and Ada (AdaCore).
• Knowledge of DOORs and IBM Config Management tooling (EWM) would be useful.
• Suitable skills and experience in Integration testing and debugging.
• Experience of working in High Dependability systems would be beneficial.
