Job summary

World Class Defence Organisation in Bristol seeks an ADA Software Engineer on a subcontract basis for an initial 6 months, onsite four days a week. The role involves Ada code development, V&V, and simulations of missile subsystems, with a typical rate of £70 per hour and Inside IR35 umbrella arrangements.

You will join a small software team, empowered to work with minimal supervision and deliver innovative solutions using a broad set of software technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience with Ada development and verification.
• Knowledge of UML (Rhapsody) and AdaCore tooling.
• Familiar with DOORS and IBM EWM configuration management.
• Experience in integration testing and debugging for high-dependability systems.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a full range of engineering activities in line with processes and requirements.
• Develop Ada code and perform verification and validation.
• Work with simulations and target-based equipment to test software.

World Class Defence Organisation based in Bristol is currently looking to recruit an ADA Software Engineer subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract, with very likely extension. The role will be onsite 4 days per week. A 4 day working week is OK (Monday to Thursday).

Rate: £70.00 per hour

Overtime Rate: Hours worked over the standard 37 hours per week, will be paid at ‘time and a quarter’

Location: Bristol

Hybrid / Remote working: The role will be onsite 4 days per week. A 4 day working week is OK (Monday to Thursday).

Duration: 12 Months with very likely extension. Contracts are often ongoing and long-term thereafter.

IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)

Join our growing Software team in Bristol, working as part of a dynamic team to develop and deliver innovative solutions by exploiting a wide portfolio of software technologies. You will work as part of a small team and be empowered to work individually with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• To undertake a full range of engineering activities in line with relevant processes, quality and other requirements.
• The role will involve Ada code development and verification.
• The role will involve software V&V, primarily using target-based equipment containing the software under test and complex simulations of other Missile subsystems.

Skillset/experience required

• Experience of both UML (Rhapsody) and Ada (AdaCore).
• Knowledge of DOORs and IBM Config Management tooling (EWM) would be useful.
• Suitable skills and experience in Integration testing and debugging.
• Experience of working in High Dependability systems would be beneficial
