Job summary

World Class Defence Organisation in Bristol seeks an Ada Software Engineer subcontractor for a 6-month contract, with likely extension. Role is onsite four days per week (Mon-Thu), rate £70/hour. The work focuses on Ada code development, verification, and software V&V in a high-dependability defense environment.

The candidate will join a small dynamic software team, work with RM and DOORS, and engage in integration testing and debugging using complex simulations of subsystems.

Qualifications

• Experience with Ada and UML modeling in safety-critical environments.
• Experience in integration testing and debugging of complex software.
• Experience working with high-dependability systems would be beneficial.

Job description

Rate:£70.00 per hour

Overtime Rate: Hours worked over the standard 37 hours per week, will be paid at 'time and a quarter'

Location: Bristol

Hybrid / Remote working: The role will be onsite 4 days per week. A 4 day working week is OK (Monday to Thursday).

Duration: 12 Months with very likely extension. Contracts are often ongoing and long-term thereafter.

IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)

Join our growing Software team in Bristol, working as part of a dynamic team to develop and deliver innovative solutions by exploiting a wide portfolio of software technologies. You will work as part of a small team and be empowered to work individually with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• To undertake a full range of engineering activities in line with relevant processes, quality and other requirements.
• The role will involve Ada code development and verification.
• The role will involve software V&V, primarily using target-based equipment containing the software under test and complex simulations of other Missile subsystems.

Skillset/experience required

• Experience of both UML (Rhapsody) and Ada (AdaCore).
• Knowledge of DOORs and IBM Config Management tooling (EWM) would be useful.
• Suitable skills and experience in Integration testing and debugging.
• Experience of working in High Dependability systems would be beneficial
