Job description

The Account Executive supports the Account Manager in generating revenue from agencies and direct clients. Responsibilities include creating sales proposals, managing campaigns, and developing existing business for the BBC.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing account plans for key agencies and clients, ensuring effective communication of new programme releases and product developments.
  • Utilize internal tools to build TV and Digital media plans for briefs and RFPs.
  • Identify sales opportunities through market research and record all opportunities in Salesforce.
  • Manage all sales cycle aspects under guidance to close sales successfully.
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations to ensure compliance with sales policies and standards.
  • Monitor advertising activities on competitive channels and share insights with the team.
  • Provide performance updates to clients during campaigns and suggest optimizations.
  • Verify rights availability within contracts and ensure no conflicts with other sales agreements.
  • Support clients and agencies in organizing hospitality and trade events, representing the BBC as needed.
  • Work with Finance team to monitor payments, chase overdue invoices, and report on payment status.
  • Attend client meetings, gather follow-up information, and coordinate with internal teams.
What does it take?
Essential Criteria:
  • Experience in administrative sales support, preferably in media.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Understanding of contractual and rights procedures in media sales.
  • Knowledge of European television and production markets.
  • Interest in entertainment programming and production processes.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Fluency in an additional European language.
