Job summary

Wirral Metropolitan College is seeking Bank Staff in Education and Early Years to support the Health, Social Care and Early Years department on an ad hoc basis. The role focuses on teaching 16-18 provision and Higher Education in Early Years.

Responsibilities include delivering planned sessions, acting as personal tutor or programme lead, preparing schemes of work and learning materials, and assessing students with feedback to drive improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in early year, education or social sciences or a related area.
• Recognised full teaching qualification or be working toward.
• Have experience of working with children.
• Able to evidence successful experience of teaching, training or assessing groups of students.

Responsibilities

• Carry out formal scheduled teaching on programmes ranging from level 1 to 3.
• Undertake a personal tutor and/or programme leader role to groups of students to maintain high achievement rates.
• Prepare schemes of work, session plans and learning materials.
• Carry out student assessments and mark students’ work and examinations and provide feedback to students and set targets for improvement.

Education

Degree or equivalent qualification in early year, education or social sciences or a related area.

Recognised full teaching qualification or be working toward

Able to evidence successful experience of teaching, training or assessing groups of students

Have experience of working with children

Level 2 English/literacy qualifications

Level 2 Maths/numeracy qualifications
