Job summary

This Ward Manager post in the Local Service Division runs Alt Ward, a mixed adult acute inpatient unit at Mersey Care. The core work is leading and motivating nursing staff to keep care consistently high, with clinical assessment and links to carers and outside agencies.

It suits a manager working with service users who have complex needs, with regular supervision in place. Candidates must be a registered mental health nurse with three years' post-registration mental health experience.

Qualifications

• Registered mental health nurse with at least 3 years post-registration experience.
• Experience at Band 6 level or above in mental health services.
• Inpatient experience and evidence of CPD (continuing professional development).

Responsibilities

• Manage Alt Ward, a mixed adult acute inpatient ward.
• Lead, motivate and influence nursing staff to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care.
• Ensure a high standard of care is delivered on the ward.
• Demonstrate good clinical assessment skills.
