Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is actively expanding its Acute and Stroke Inpatient Speech and Language Therapy team on a permanent basis. The role involves working across UHCW and Rugby St Cross Hospital, supporting adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties in stroke and acute wards.

The successful candidate will have post-graduate SLT experience or be newly qualified, with a collaborative, innovative approach and the ability to balance a busy

Qualifications

• Ability to conduct and interpret formal and informal communication assessments across stroke and acute presentations.
• Participate in planning, development and evaluation of clinical practice and service development.
• Attend MDT meetings and daily rounds to coordinate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide a service to hyper-acute and acute stroke wards for patients with communication and swallowing difficulties.
• Manage a designated caseload with senior support within clinical parameters.
• Contribute to education and supervision of volunteers, students, and junior staff.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and information management for data reporting.
